He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi About the role
As a Signals Field Engineer in the Auckland Metro you will play a key role in maintaining and upgrading our signalling systems. Youll ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical rail infrastructure carrying out inspections fault diagnosis repairs and commissioning work. This is a hands-on role where youll work outdoors often in a live rail environment. Youll collaborate with colleagues across maintenance and operations to keep services running smoothly and safely.

Were looking for someone with a safety-first mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Youll also bring:
An engineering qualification in electrical electronic or signalling (or equivalent experience)
Experience working with signalling systems ideally in rail or a similar safety-critical environment
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Clear communication and a commitment to safety at all times
Flexibility to work shifts including nights weekends and public holidays
A full clean driver licence
Desirable:
Knowledge of rail industry standards and practices
Experience with project delivery and commissioning activities
