Registered Nurse (RN) Mother Baby - Full-time

Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue Fort Worth TX 76104

The Womens Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility has been named Best Place to Have a Baby and Maternal Level IV designated facility

Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:45PM-7:15AM) for 36 hours/week with Weekend and holiday requirements

Maternal/Newborn Couplet Care Department highlights:

Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

27-bed Maternal/Newborn unit

Average between 275 to 300 deliveries per month

Utilize the following skills: Breastfeeding education/resources responsible for both mom and baby (Couplet Care)

Heres What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required

BSN is preferred

RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

One-year experience as a Registered nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program required.

One year or more of Mother/Baby Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred

BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required

Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift inter-hospital and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
