The Role
As a Legal Counsel specialising in Employment you will provide legal advice and counsel to the QinetiQ Group covering all aspects of industrial relations & employment law related litigation and mediation issues regulatory compliance and broader legal subjects relating to employment issues.

Day-to-day youll report into the Group Head of Employment Law and collaborate as needed with the People Function Sector Operations and our legal advisers in the QinetiQ Group in-house Legal & IP Team and our global network of external legal counsel.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working on diverse and complex litigation cases at tribunal as well as advising and supporting disciplinaries and grievances
• Applying your UK employment knowledge across multiple jurisdictions working in partnership with international partners
• Actively supporting the mergers acquisitions and sales departments
• Identifying and supporting development of new policy & process improvements training needs for the People Function and advising on new employment related legislation that may affect its business
• Maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and functional colleagues and promoting the value of the groups Legal IP and Company Secretarial team

Essential experience of the Legal Counsel:

• A well-developed grounding in all aspects of employment law with sound legal judgment and understanding of the employment regulatory environment.
• Experience working in a law firm or in-house legal team.

Essential qualifications for the Legal Counsel:

• Qualified employment lawyer with 2-3 years post-qualification within employment law.

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
