Position Overview:

Boeing Technical Publications team is currently looking for an Associate Data Steward to join their team in Chennai India. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

As a Data Steward data governance the candidate will maintain master and reference data for the Material Supplier and related objects. The ability to prioritize numerous tasks at a time and clear work queues will be integral in this role. They will also manage data process improvement efforts including data quality issue resolution business rules development data sensitivity analysis and access criteria definition. Job activities include processing data maintenance requests performing analytics of existing data to identify data issues defining business data rules in collaboration with other teams monitoring data quality managing and maintaining standard reference data used by the business teams coordinating with multiple roles maintaining collaboration across functions in business and IT (including at the business unit and enterprise level) developing and implementing system readiness testing and leveraging standard tools to publish and deploy standard data structures reference data and vocabularies.

This role will enable the Boeing Global Services Supply Chain to attain a superior maturity of data quality accessibility and data responsibility. Data is necessary to conduct supply chain activities efficiently free of error and traceable. Improving data enables the Supply Chain to provide services that are data dependent and data driven.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage Data Metadata and Information for master data for material and supplier.
• Receive data creation maintenance or issue request correct data maintain content test data in systems publish information and verify information publish information verify information and test data in systems.
• Identify and resolve data issues.
• Partners with internal and external users to address inquires as well as strengthen their understanding of procedures & polices related to data requests.
• Understands linkage of data to mitigate downstream system or business impacts.
• Correlate business data requirements and define data rules for ERP systems such as SAP and other data management systems such as SAP Information Steward and Informatica products.
• Define and maintain data definitions quality requirements rules and valid value lists.
• Gather analyze interpret and integrate large data sets and data requirements utilizing software. (National Center for O*NET Development n.d.)
• Develop govern and enhance data governance dashboards and reports.
• Provide input into data standards policies and procedures.
• Validate standard specification and classifications of data such as UNSPSC and other aviation data.
• Analyze mastered data to identify trends or relationships among variables (National Center for O*NET Development n.d.)
• Perform big data analytics and enrich metadata.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree or higher is required as a basic qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Min 3 years of related experience in corporate environment preferably with supply chain Data Governance and data rich companies.
• Min 3 years of Practical experience working with data structures data utilization by business processes and documentation of data business rules.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree in any specialization or related field i.e.: Data Science Engineering with 5 years relevant experience.
• Strong strategic analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong background in research analysis and business communication
• Knowledge of design HTML CSS and coding will be an added advantage.

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master4 years related work experience).
