The Compensation Consultant serves as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders delivering expert guidance on compensation design performance management and workforce planning. This role supports the development and implementation of equitable market-aligned compensation programs and performance frameworks that drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as a subject matter expert to HR Business Partners and department leaders.
Presents findings and recommendations to leadership including compensation assessments and pay equity reviews.
Collaborates with Talent Management and HRIS to ensure data integrity and system alignment.
Conducts job evaluations market pricing and internal equity analyses.
Develops and maintains salary structures merit matrices and incentive models.
Supports compensation planning cycles including annual merit and bonus programs.
Partners with HR leadership to align performance metrics with compensation outcomes.
Provides consultation on performance calibration goal setting and rating distributions.
Analyzes performance data to identify trends and recommends program enhancements.
Ensures compensation practices comply with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Supports audits internal reviews and documentation of compensation decisions.
Contributes to the development of dashboards and KPIs to monitor compensation and performance trends.
Participates in cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes and enhance employee experience.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors Degree in relevant field required.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Department Specific Functions
Helps ensure the accuracy and timely dissemination of operational dashboard reports and other standard management information.
Provides analytical support for designated compensation special projects as assigned.
Produces analyses to inform the annual budget planning process helping to ensure the creation of accurate realistic and optimized fiscal year budgets.
Develops recommendations for strengthening compensation plan.
Assists stakeholders with the interpretation of compensation plan results ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Maintains accuracy of faculty compensation data utilized by multiple parties.
Effectively leads and drives complex department-wide compensation projects to ensure the organizations strategic objectives are achieved.
