Job Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time permanent HSE Advisor to join our Safety & Compliance team in Aberdeen.

Purpose of role:

This is a key role within the team and the organisation providing Health Safety and Environmental support to the UK AOC Operations. The role will drive through continuous improvement whilst working as part of a dynamic and focused HSE team.

Key responsibilities:

This role has a wide and varied number of responsibilities which include but are not limited to:

Environmental:

  • Development of procedures and processes to support and maintain ISO 14001 certification.
  • Reviewing environmental regulation to ensure procedures remain aligned with regulatory requirements to ensure continued compliance.
  • Planning and conducting environmental audits.
  • Analysis and monitoring of environmental energy and waste KPIs.
  • Support the Bristow Environmental Committee Meeting.

HSE Issues

  • Provide advice and assist with implementation of practical solutions for day-to-day HSE issues for all levels of staff in conjunction with the HSE Team and wider Safety and Compliance Team.
  • Development of procedures and processes to support and maintain ISO 45001 certification.
  • Advise on HSE Legislation issues.
  • Act as a focal point for base HSE Champions.
  • Carry out HSE inductions for new employees.
  • Carry out Contractor inductions

Risk Assessment:

  • Assist and engage with line Managers and Supervisors to develop Departmental Risk Assessments COSHH and Ergonomic Risk Assessments.

Event Investigation:

  • Investigate first aid injury accidents incidents near miss and hazard reports.
  • Prepare event investigation reports.

Audits / Inspections

  • Carry out UK base safety audits as part of the Safety and Compliance audit cycle.
  • Undertaking Root cause analysis & identifying HSE issues.
  • Evaluating corrective/ preventative action and analysis of trends.

Work Permits

  • Monitoring of Permit to Work system to ensure effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

Desirable qualifications and skills:

  • NEBOSH Qualification or equivalent in OHS/Environment -
  • Experience of ISO14001 and ISO 45001
  • Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment training (ISEP)
  • Proven auditor experience

Skills

  • Excellent motivational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate and present information clearly
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft office suite
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A proven ability to negotiate influence and drive change
  • A willingness to learn
  • Driving License

Please note that travel will be required as part of the role.
