The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a 60% Paramedic (24hours per week) to work in our Cedar Rapids Urgent Care Clinics. UI Urgent Care Clinics provide care to try to save our patients a trip to the emergency room. Our Urgent Care Paramedics are responsible to assess a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensures patient care standards are met and provides access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic including X-rays IV fluids and stitches. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. Were open evenings weekends and even some holidays. This position will mainly support our Cedar Rapids location however could float to other clinic locations based on clinical need/hours up to a two-hour radius.

Under supervision of NM/ANM (Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager) and Medical Director of Urgent Care and also receives functional supervision from APPs (Advanced Practice Provider) and functions as a member of the urgent care team. Performs technical patient care and related clerical functions in the Urgent Care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit.
Staff will float between Urgent Care sites based on staffing need.

Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday 7:00am - 9:30pm Saturday and Sunday 7:00am - 7:30pm rotating weekends and holidays no on call
Pay Grade: 10 $29227.82 - $38097.65 (based on years of experience)
Location: Cedar Rapids IA (and surrounding cities based on clinical needs/hours up to a two-hour radius)
