JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Nurse Manager these positions provide professional nursing care and health services including nursing assessments examinations and treatment. Provides patient-focused advice and education. Conducts health promotion and educational outreach. Collaborates with other providers to enable students to attain and maintain good health. As college health nurses these positions support the maintenance and improvement of the health of students identifying and assisting in removing or modifying health-related barriers and supporting early detection and early intervention strategies. Refers students to other resources as appropriate; maintains electronic medical records and ensures compliance with state laws and regulations SHaW policies and procedures and program protocols.

APPOINTMENT TERMS
This opening is for two positions. One position is a permanent 9-month position that works days/evenings mid-August through mid-May annually with 3 months of paid summer leave and the second position is a 10-month day shift position working mid-July through mid-May with alternating weekends and 2 months of paid summer leave. The hours listed are during the fall and spring academic semesters. Hours during break times are 8 am 4 pm. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and rights terms and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
