About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join us in London contributing to the high-performance C software that powers global trading activity across major financial markets. Our team develops advanced trading applications that handle complex capital markets workflows ensuring reliability and scalability under real-time trading conditions.
You will be part of a collaborative global engineering group that designs builds and maintains systems critical to traders and operations teams worldwide. This role is ideal for an experienced developer with a deep understanding of C who enjoys solving complex system-level challenges and optimizing performance in distributed environments.
What youll do
- Design develop and enhance high-performance trading applications using modern C (C17 or later) ensuring optimal speed scalability and maintainability.
- Build andmaintain services running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and AWS cloud environments ensuring reliability and resilience under high-load conditions.
- Collaborate with global teams to refine requirements design scalable solutions and ensure seamless integration across distributed systems.
- Apply best practices in software designleveraging design patterns and data structures to deliver efficient and maintainable solutions.
- Write high-quality testable and performant code following rigorous code review and automated testing processes.
- Support production deployments across single-tenant and multi-tenant environments ensuring stability and robustness under real-world trading volumes.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and continuous improvement initiatives to evolve our technology stack and development practices.
What were looking for
- 8 years of commercial software development experience ideally in financial technology or other high-performance low-latency environments.
- Expert-levelproficiency in C with solid knowledge of modern standards (C17 or later) and strong command of STL templates and memory management.
- Experience developing software inLinux/Unix environments with a focus on performance optimization and multithreading.
- Strong understanding ofsoftware design principles patterns and data structures.
- Familiarity withSQL and relational databases such as Oracle SQL Server or MariaDB/MySQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
Nice to have skills
- Experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
- Familiarity withJavaScript frameworks such as Angular or Sencha Ext JS.
- Understanding of securities finance stock borrow loan or repo products.
- Exposure to AWS services and messaging platforms
- Experience building ormaintaining automated testing frameworks for C applications.
