Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Grants Manager for the Grants division; organizes plans and executes the administrative procedures for the award and management of state and federal grants and contracts for the Grants division utilizing Departmental procedures.
  • Performs analysis of grantees initial and quarterly performance and financial expenditure reports for the use of the grant to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and fiscal accountability in the use of state funds.
  • Evaluates organizes and executes the implementation of the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) administrative rules and ensures compliance with the Act.
  • Coordinates the Vets Cash committee quarterly reviews including but not limited to scheduling notification preparation of reports for presentation by the Grants Administrator and records minutes.
  • Travels to various state-wide locations to perform site visits on grant closeouts to ensure compliance of the grantees award.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience in grant experience including technical accounting experience.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working with Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) Excel Word Outlook or other comparable software.
  • One (1) year experience in executing federal grants or cooperative agreements including workplan and budget development and regular contact with grantees.
  • One (1) year experience in grant performance monitoring tracking cost match and working in federal reporting databases.
  • One (1) or more years of professional experience applying established grant auditing procedures.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in AmpliFund or other comparable software.
  • One (1) year exercising the principles and practices of public and business administration.

Specialized Skills

  • Of the years of required experience requires one (1) year of experience in executing federal grants or cooperative agreements including workplan and budget development and regular contact with grantees; experience in grant performance monitoring tracking cost match and working in federal reporting databases; and experience in applying established grant auditing procedures.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate valid drivers license.
  • Requires ability to attend seminars conferences and trainings to stay current on methods tools ideologies or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
  • Requires use of agency-supplied equipment (mobile laptop etc.).
  • Overtime is a condition of employment and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
