Job Description

The Arlington Public Schools has an opening for a general music teacher at the Dallin Elementary School. We are seeking a dynamic and talented music educator who demonstrates strong pedagogical musical and vocal skills. They will work collaboratively in a team of highly motivated and dedicated Dallin School and K-12 Performing Arts Department educators.
The successful candidate exhibits dynamic interpersonal skills to motivate and engage students and can maintain and enhance enthusiastic engagement in music-making in a safe supportive and student-centered environment. A strong background in the major elementary classroom music methodologies singing and elementary level repertoire and materials is essential. Training in First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege is a plus. Responsibilities of the position include teaching general music classes for students in grades K-5 and chorus for students in grade 4 and 5.
Arlington is located in the immediate metropolitan Boston area within close proximity to internationally acclaimed arts and cultural institutions and major universities. Arlington embraces a vibrant and diverse artistic and cultural life that is woven throughout its public school and community programs.
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure in Music PK-12 is required.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be hired as a teacher on the teachers salary scale and will be a member of the Arlington Education Association Unit A.
Salary and Benefits are consistent with theCollective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
