Job Responsibilities
Develops implements and administers cost-effective benefits programs such as pension plans and life health and disability insurance May also administer the organizations Employee Assistance Program. May also be required to be a subject matter expertise in the area of Disability Management and Attendance Support to ensure timely and effective case management.
- Assist our Plan Members with day-to-day medical and dental claims and health benefit-related questions (30% very easy to complex / research-oriented)
- Audit retirement plan eligibility and participant data such as employee and employer contributions; resolve discrepancies within system and with record-keeper (20% - complex)
- Benefit plan administration (15% - medium difficulty)
- Special projects as needed such as file feed enhancements managing/auditing data testing (10%)
- Performs other duties as they might be assigned (10%)
- Work with broader HR team auditors finance team legal and actuaries on various retirement items (10%)
- Process life insurance claims (<5%)
Job Requirements
- Post secondary in Business Human Resources or related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with employee benefits
- Advanced MS Office skills (e.g. proficiency in Excel to include using pivot tables v-look ups and the mail merge feature in Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detailed and customer-service oriented
