Under general supervision the Senior Coordinator role encompasses a broad portfolio designed to enrich the academic and personal success of students interested in the Asian American Pacific Islander & Desi American (APIDA) experience at CSUN. The position shapes and sustains culturally relevant programs mentorship initiatives and holistic student services that foster a sense of belonging and address equity barriers. With responsibilities spanning program development cross-campus collaboration student engagement and institutional advocacy the Senior Coordinator ensures that resource center participating students thrive academically and socially. The role combines direct student interaction with strategic program planning assessment and resource alignment to build inclusive pathways for success:

  • Develops coordinates plans delivers and evaluates a comprehensive set of highly complex support services activities events and programs specifically designed to increase retention and graduation for Resource Center participants.
  • Provides day-to-day direction guidance and supports the APIDA Resource Center Programs Coordinator to implement the CSUN Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Student Achievement Program allocation.
  • Promotes best practices in student success improving outcomes related to the success development inclusion retention and experience of students on campus by assisting with efforts to identify and eliminate systemic and institutional barriers as well as building the capacity of individual students.
  • Provides input and feedback during the development and review of policies and procedures to minimize barriers to educational equity for students and enhance access success retention and graduation.
  • Attends staff meetings participates in on and off-campus committees and attends development/training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job-related is preferred.

  • Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups and in the analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
  • A Masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
