We are searching for a CasualCook IIto join our West Bedford Transitional Health team based in Bedford Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Plans and prepares meals according to established standards procedures recipes and menus including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines;
- Assists with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards;
- Reports any recipe shortages discrepancies or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner;
- Cleans and sanitizes cooking station daily; maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens kettles mixers or others according to legislative and organizational standards;
- Follows disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics paper plastics cans/bottles non-recyclable material etc;
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:
- Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate
- Current Food Handlers Certificate
- Experience in preparing large quantities of food
- Ability to read & follow detailed recipes/instructions as required
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations services and care
