Scene Shop Assistants provide support in the build installation and strike/storage of scenery for all Parkside Theatre productions. Applicants should have a basic understanding of working with manual and power tools. Priority is given to Theatre Arts majors/minors.
Responsibilities include:
Work under the Technical Director Scene Shop Supervisor and head carpenter
Will involve working with manual and power tools construction and electrical equipment various adhesives chemicals and paints
Organizing cleaning and maintaining the scene shop prop loft scenic storage areas and scene shop equipment
May involve heavy lifting (50 lbs);
Maintain a safe shop environment with proper PPE (provided) and safety protocols
Willing to work at heights on ladders and Genie lifts.
Both work study-eligible and non-work study students are encouraged to apply.
