The REMM Group is actively seeking a qualified Multifamily Maintenance Technician to support our beautiful community in La Mesa CA. The ideal candidate must be okay with being in La Mesa three to four days a week and floating one to two days a week.

The Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the overall condition and repair of the asset. This position includes managing the day-to-day operations of a property including repairs make-ready processes Capital projects and preventative maintenance. There is no housing included with this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensures completion of all apartment turnovers. Assist with minor construction projects and renovations.
  • Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally diagnosing and resolving issues related to plumbing electrical HVAC appliances and general repairs and document repairs made in Yardi Voyager software.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to identify and address potential problems before they occur.
  • Maintain the Cleanliness and Curb appeal of the property adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and emergency problems if needed.
  • Communicate with the Business Manager to ensure work is complete and costs are in line with the budget.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed to obtain necessary parts and materials.
  • Communicate with excellent customer service and maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with residents and staff.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and emergency issues including being on-call after hours.
  • Strategically plan how to turn units with your team.
  • Keeps storage facilities and equipment organized and in working condition.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in multifamily property maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing electrical HVAC and appliance repair principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to take initiative working with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Yardi property management software (a plus).
  • High Sense of urgency while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Candidate must be able to work in an environment in which demands and priorities change rapidly.
