Check out the best places to work link! a Regional RN Hospice Trainer you will serves as a role model resource and advocate for clinical excellence fostering the professional development of nursing staff. Ensures the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care by mentoring and educating new staff on clinical practices policies and procedures.
- Facilitate orientation and training programs for new RNs LVNs and HHAs to ensure they understand Hospice protocols documentation systems and compliance requirements.
- Provide hands-on clinical training including home visits assessments skills labs and care planning.
- Introduce new staff to organizational culture and values.
- Observe and evaluate new nurses skills during home visits providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Ensure adherence to best practices infection control guidelines and patient safety standards.
- Assist in the development of individualized learning plans to address knowledge or skill gaps.
- Serve as a mentor fostering confidence and competence in new RNs LVNs and HHAs.
- Act as a resource for clinical questions and decision-making during the preceptorship period.
- Build positive professional relationships with preceptees to support their transition into the role.
- Review and ensure accurate complete and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in performance evaluations of preceptees and provide input on readiness for independent practice.
- Stay current with industry trends clinical guidelines and Hospice regulations.
- Participate in continuing education and training to enhance mentoring and leadership skills.
- Additional: Performs on call responsibilities and provide on call services to patients and families as assigned.
Requirements
- Current RN license
- Knowledge or experience utilizing Homecare Homebase EMR would be a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Hospice or related healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in a teaching mentoring or preceptor role preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Hospice documentation systems (e.g. EMR software).
- Strong clinical and assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Salary Description
$95000-$120000 per year
