TheManufacturing Engineer will assist with improving manufacturing flow andefficiency systemdesign for manufactureBOMmanagement build sequencing andfixturingdesign andsolvingproductionissues.As part of the engineering departmenttheManufacturing Engineer willworkasaninterface to improveproductionefficiencybring new designsto the shop floor andassist with updatingcurrentdesigns for manufacturability reliabilityand due to obsolescence.TheManufacturingEngineerwill also redline printsand update CAD models accordingly and maintainconfiguration management.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineerwith arelevantdegreeor 6years equivalent experience as a ManufacturingEngineer.
- Prefer experience in aluminum utility or work boat manufacturing or maintenanceor equivalentwork experience.
- Prefer experience in Vessel and/or Vehicle testing and trials.
EDUCATION
- Bachelors degreeinManufacturingEngineeringMechanicalEngineering ElectricalEngineering or equivalent from anaccredited collegeoruniversity; work experience mayprovide equivalence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development of work instructionsfor the productionofvessels.
- Providetechnical support and problem solvingtoallvessel productionoperations.
- Support in the developmentandmanagementof theManufacturingBillofMaterials forvessel production parts.
- Identificationfor anddevelopment oftooling and fixtures toimprovevessel production.
- Supportthe development andvalidation ofnewvesseldesigns andfeatures
- Coordinate with other membersof theprogram teamand larger Birdon organization aroundprogramexecutiontechnicalandproductionmatters.
- Supportthe developmentand executionofEngineeringChange Orders.
- Support the management of vesseland productionconfigurations.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proficientin Microsoft Office tools MS Project Visio Adobe
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and able to perform database dataentry.
- Time Management: Manage ones own time insupportofestablishedworkschedules.
- Effective Listening:Give full attention to what other people are saying take timeto understandtheinformation presented ask appropriate questions as needed avoid making unnecessary interruptions and avoid applying personal bias to the information presented.
- Speaking: Able to present complex technical information to a variety of audiencesinamanner thatallows the audience to understand the information.

- Tools and Test Equipment: Use common hand tools and power tools and become proficient in the use of test equipment such as multimeters volt meters antenna analyzers flowmeters load cells and strain gauges.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Positionrequiresuseofcomputertelephonesandotherofficeequipmentreadingwriting standing sitting walking repetitive motions bending climbing listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Position requires ability to work in a manufacturing environmentinand around boats from the beginning of production through the sea trails. This includes mobility to work in and aroundincompletealuminum hull structures.
- Ability to lift packages equipment etc. up to 50lbs.
