We are seeking a highly motivated Woodcrafter/Plastic Fabricator for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.

Overview:

The Woodcrafter/Plastic Fabricator contractor employee shall be able to Fabricates Repairs Assembles and Installs aboard ships and in facilities wall coverings such as Plastic Laminates Plexiglas and polycarbonate materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fabrication repair modification removal and installation of a variety of acoustic sound-dampening composite PVC and specialized hull treatment tiles and insulation systems.
  • Install remove and manufacture rubber components such as seals and gaskets as well as deck coverings including ceramic tile vinyl flooring carpet terrazzo and other polymeric finishes.
  • Fabricate repair and install components using acrylic polycarbonate epoxies and glass reinforced plastics (GRP); creating molds; applying bonding agents; and constructing or removing containment systems and barriers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Woodcrafter/Plastic Fabricator trade with at least 2 years on Navy ships.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required.
  • Ability to work 1st 2nd and 3rd shift.
