Job Title: Civil Construction Estimator
Location: Mandeville LA (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join a growing Project Management Team at a well-established construction company experiencing rapid expansion. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Heavy Highway Construction and expertise in preparing accurate and comprehensive project estimates.

Key Responsibilities

Execute detailed take-offs of construction documents.
Review construction documents and understand the scope of work to bid using state and federal specifications.
Obtain quotes from subcontractors and vendors for materials and labor as needed.
Prepare estimates by recapitulating material labor equipment subcontractor and overhead costs throughout the project life cycle.
Develop and maintain company resource information on products vendors subcontractors and government requirements.
Help review bidding decisions for upcoming projects.
Communicate plans and contract terms to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Project Management Team to manage the financial aspects of projects.
Attend departmental meetings as required.

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency with HCSS (Heavy Bid) AutoCAD and P6 (Primavera) or other estimating/scheduling software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Working knowledge of all phases of Civil Construction.
Strong contracts and plan-reading skills.
Established relationships with suppliers and subcontractors in the area.
Field experience in construction projects.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 10 years of Heavy Highway Construction experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in estimation work.
Stable work history and proven leadership experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working in an office environment where dogs are present.
