Job Description

Part of Dover Corporations Engineered Systems segment Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting wheel service diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift Chief Forward Direct-Lift Ravaglioli Hanmecson Revolution Elektron Blitz Nogra Butler Space and Sirio.

SUMMARY:Under general supervision assists in monitoring and coordinating facility health and safety programs including safety inspections accident investigations and training to minimize the risk of job-related accidents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety programs such as lockout/tagout electrical safety hoist safety fire protection and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
  • Respond to first aid near miss and emergency situations; perform investigations prepare reports of findings submit and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Perform hazard analyses and recommend mitigation procedures.
  • Create and maintain work instructions related to safe work practices.
  • Participate in the implementation of OFI tracking and reporting.
  • Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and action lists.
  • Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections.
  • Create and conduct training sessions on safety topics.
  • Create Safety Alerts to post in work areas as needed.
  • Instruct workers on proper safety procedures and practices to follow at work.
  • Intervene in unsafe activities or operations and enforce safety policies.
  • Participate in developing internal methods to comply with Dover Safety Initiatives.
  • Maintain safety documentation analyze for trends and suggest preventive measures.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds repeatedly a minimum of 2 times per day.
  • Must be willing to complete OSHA 30-Hour and other safety related training as required.
  • Must be willing to participate in first aid training and become a first responder.
  • Duties will require use of Microsoft Office and other safety specific software programs.
  • Duties require excellent communication and advisory skills as well as diligent attention to detail.
  • Duties require the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • Assemble data for maintenance and filing of OSHA 300 logs.
  • Data entry into Dover Enablon Software.
  • Assist in developing implementing and maintaining safety auditing program for all departments.
  • Assist in developing implementing and maintaining facility wide 5S program.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents injuries and near misses and cooperate in the development of documentation and corrective actions.
  • Performs other work of similar or comparable nature incidental to the performance of the safety operations. Assists new operators learning the techniques and procedures necessary for safe work.

Education:Requires a GED or High School diploma.
