ChristianaCare is looking for a full-timeLaundryMechanic II in Newark Delawareto safely operate maintain and repair equipment associated with the on-site Textiles Operation through timely and efficient preventive maintenance and repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responds to equipment issues returning the equipment to normal operating conditions as soon as possible.

Inspect maintain repair install and replace various textiles equipment and control systems.

Maintain and repair pump systems steam systems pneumatic control equipment.

Maintain and repair electro-mechanical conveyance systems and their associated controls.

Maintain and repair hydraulic equipment components and their associated controls.

Maintain and repair electric motor driven equipment and associated electrical control components.

Completes preventive maintenance and repairs in a safe efficient manner.

Maintain adequate spare parts inventory based on historical factors and manufacturers recommendations.

Identify potential equipment issues and develop repair or replacement strategies.

Maintains preventive maintenance program and completes corrective maintenance.

Provide instruction to operations staff on proper and safe equipment use as needed.

Maintain positive work relationships with co-workers managers vendors and contractors.

Participate in scheduled in-service training programs shop meeting and other activities required to gain information and instruction on equipment operation and other topics.

Perform assigned work safely adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor in a timely manner any unsafe activities conditions hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself other employees patients and visitors.

Completes all mandatory education requirements.

Perform other related duties as required.

Hours: Rotating shifts

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School or Vo-Tech graduate

Minimum four years of experience maintaining electric or mechanical equipment.

Previous experience in production or textiles maintenance desired.

Journeyman Certification preferred.

Physical demands:

Potential to work in wet areas. Work routinely requires prolonged standing considerable walking lifting and carrying of items up to 75 pounds in weight stooping crawling and working off ladders working overhead and occasionally at heights of up to 30 feet use of powered man lifts and other industrial powered equipment and laying under equipment for repairs.

Working conditions:

Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals chemical odors lint/dust and loud noises. Potential to work with high pressure hot fluids and hot surfaces. Potential exposure to sharp instruments and biologically contaminated linen. Elevated temperatures at times and minimal exposure to outdoor environments.

This position has a starting rate of $35.12 per hour regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment the hourly rate will automatically increase to $39.43 per hour. After one year of continuous employment the hourly rate will automatically increase to $43.73.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
