Our Nurses work in a collaborative environment and we team with other practitioners for great outcomes. We are patient care focused. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical emotional spiritual cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.


Duties include:

  • Proficient in IV insertion injections lab draws
  • Collaboration with other departments: Lab Cardiology Primary Care Pharmacy
  • Skilled in teaching patients regarding medications and diagnosis
  • Working knowledge of authorizations
  • Schedule patient appointments in Meditech.
  • Collaborate with doctors regarding medications scheduling and lab work.
  • Managing medication side effects and medical emergencies via phone triage.
  • Assesses patient progress identifies problems initiate preventive measures recognizes emergent problems and initiate proper care in collaboration with physicians.
  • Serves as a resource and educator for patients and their families.
  • Maintains thorough accurate and timely documentation of care provision including assessments plans implementations and evaluation of outcomes consistent with clinical and administrative standards practice.
  • Attends Clinical and Office Staff meetings as needed to coordinate patient care.
  • Applies appropriate diagnostic therapeutic medical and nursing scope of practice.
  • Provides nursing support guidance and direction to clinical and clerical staff.
  • Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned within nurses scope of practice and properly documents those activities.
  • Provide timely and quality patient care in compliance with local state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prefer 1-year nursing experience with excellent verbal written communication and assessment skills.
  • RN CT License. BSN required.
  • One-year of clinical experience
  • BLS (Current CPR certificate)
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly.
  • Strong organizational team building and interpersonal skills.

Bristol HealthMandated Educational Requirements:

General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Health Care Provider CPR from American Heart Association. Successfully complete all training programs as determined by Education & HRD department. Other unit based competencies/skills as required.

Special Requirements:

Successfully complete unit based competency package plus unit specific items. Strong team skills.

Physical Requirements:

Physical agility with repetitive occurrence including but not limited to; walking running bending stooping climbing stairs and ladders kneeling crouching crawling balancing reaching standing sitting and twisting.
