The Esperanza Center provides a welcoming atmosphere social services health services legal support and English as a Second Language (ESL) to immigrants in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The centers staff offers assistance with employment English proficiency legal services and access to primary and urgent health care and referral services. The health services are offered in partnerships with area hospitals and medical schools.
Catholic Charities of Baltimore Esperanza Center is currently seeking a Case Manager Associate- Bilingual(English/Spanish) will provide direct service to clients and casework services that include linking clients to resources and providing referrals. Assesses individuals needs connects them with resources based on goals and provides support advocacy information and referral services. Works collaboratively with team providing back-up and assistance to clients. This position is supported by grant funding and the responsibilities associated with the role are governed by the terms and conditions of the grant. Employment may depend on the continuation or termination of the funding. The work schedule is Monday - Friday (in-person) 8:30am-4:30pm 37.5 hours per week.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) offering effective communication across diverse populations.

- Promotes a safe supportive and trauma-informed environment by building trusting relationships with clients and ensuring service delivery aligns with agency policies and client well-being.
- Monitors compliance with program policies and procedures; document incidents accurately and intervene appropriately in emergencies.
- Conducts intakes assess client needs and urgency of services and develop appropriate support plans in collaboration with clients.
- Supports client progress by observing behaviors reinforcing strengths addressing concerns and communicating relevant updates to supervisors as needed.
- Ensures clients are informed of their rights and understand the grievance process through clear communication during intake and ongoing support.
- Promotes a safe and compliant environment by observing client interactions and addressing policy-related concerns in alignment with program standards.
- Manages emergency situations with professionalism and calm using de-escalation techniques and following safety protocols to protect all individuals involved.
- Assists clients in obtaining essential documents such as state IDs Social Security cards and access to shelter or housing resources.
- Maintains accurate up-to-date case files and enter data into management systems (ClientTrack Coordinated Access ServicePoint) within 24 hours of client contact.
- Maintains detailed logs and records of client interactions and program activities accurately reflecting all services provided.
- Provides employment-related support such as resume development job search assistance and soft skills training.
- Refers clients to internal behavioral health services including therapy and psychiatric care when appropriate.
- Upholds a high standard of hospitality and professionalism with all clients volunteers and visitors ensuring every interaction reflects dignity and respect.
- Participates in team meetings and required trainings on topics such as mental health substance use trauma and poverty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 1 year of related experience

- Requires proficiency in using computer systems and software to perform job function including but not limited to basic Windows PC web browsing (i.e. Chrome Internet Explorer etc.) and Microsoft Outlook. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint Teams and OneDrive is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- No remote or hybrid work availability based on core and essential functions of the position.
- Flexibility may be required to work beyond standard hours including weekends and holidays as needed. (i.e. nights weekends and holidays).
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions which may include lifting carrying pushing pulling or repositioning items as necessary to perform job duties.
- Remaining in a stationary position which may involve standing or sitting for extended periods as required to complete tasks or duties associated with the role.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or transitioning between different work sites which may involve walking standing or traveling to various locations as required by the role.
- Repetitive motions involving the wrists hands and/or fingers including tasks such as typing data entry or handling small objects. These repetitive activities may occur throughout the workday and require attention to ergonomics to ensure comfort and minimize strain.
- Assessing the accuracy neatness and completeness of assigned work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to established guidelines.
- Hearing and vision abilities with or without correction sufficient to drive safely and effectively observe and communicate with others.
- Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and a valid drivers license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state-issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede drivers ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.
