As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Data Technology youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
- Leads technical designs and be part of a team of geographically distributed analysts and developers responsible for the programs software solutions engineering function.
- Participates Designs and Codes the development function for the Authentication middleware services Platform that supports external facing mobile/web applications batch programs and databases.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineeringconcepts and 5 years applied experience
- Experience in Architect deploy and manage scalable secure and highly available AWS infrastructure solutions.
- Experience in Provision and manage AWS resources such as EC2 S3 RDS VPC IAM KMS SQS SNS ELB/ALB Aurora and other AWS services.
- Design and create AWS ECS/EKS upgrade process and minimize application outage time.
- Design develop and maintain robust Java applications using the Spring framework including Spring Boot Spring MVC and Spring Data.
- Build and consume Java RESTful APIs and microservices ensuring scalability and maintainability. Integrate applications with databases (e.g. PostgreSQL AWS Aurora) using Spring Data JPA or JDBC.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform CloudFormation or AWS CLI.
- Set up monitoring logging and alerting for AWS resources; analyze performance and optimize infrastructure for cost and efficiency.
- Maintain AWS infrastructure and resolve any FARM breaks to maintain platform healthy and secure. Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
- Perform unit integration and system testing using JUnit Mockito and other testing frameworks to ensure application reliability and performance
