Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry level Learning Spaces Technician to join Academic Technology a unit within UFIT. This is an evening shift position.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching learning research and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems including SEC and SUS universities and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

The Academic Technology Learning Spaces Support team is responsible for the installation configuration and support of all technology and equipment in roughly 275 classrooms across campus. The team also supports multiple computer labs conference rooms and digital signage services. This work includes real-time on-site and remote support/consultations for faculty.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other dedicated employees focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Floridas innovative and inspirational community.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Configuring and troubleshooting AV technology
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Windows and MacOS based computers
  • Providing support for instructors in potentially high-stress situations
  • Fall & Spring Semesters:
    Monday through Friday 02:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Summer Semesters:
    Monday through Friday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Expected Salary:

$20.72 an hour

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Relevant technology certifications (e.g. CompTIA Microsoft Crestron)
  • Accuracy attention to detail and a service-centric mindset
  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in computing and AV technologies
