Position Summary:
- Participates in conceptualization and design of new and existing products.
- Works with all departments within the company to ensure that product specifications performance durability quality cost and manufacturing requirements are met.
Position Responsibilities:
- Initiate preliminary mechanical design concepts product leadership and aids in establishing product specifications features and designs.
- Development of new and innovative products product enhancements or new technologies to meet market needs.
- Work with suppliers to coordinate prototyping activities and to ensure design expectations are met
- Work independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
- Additional duties as requested.
- Supports Lean Business Enterprise Initiatives for continuous improvement and waste elimination.
Position Requirements (Knowledge & Experience):
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be pursuing a bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- Self-motivated creative and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple projects
- Must possess a collaborative working style that thrives in a cross-functional team environment
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to actively listen
- Knowledge of SolidWorks (or other 3D parametric modeling software)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) and Oracle
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.
