You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9-month full-time and tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning on August 7 2026. Salary is negotiable.
The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in Philosophy or cognate field in hand by time of appointment. AOS: Early Modern Philosophy. AOC: open. The Ph.D. program in Philosophy at USF has a major emphasis in the History of Philosophy.
Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one year of teaching experience in the listed area of specialization with records of strong research combined with outstanding continued research potential and demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy and to those with potential to contribute to USFs strategic plan.

Normal teaching load is 2/2; 9-month appointment with the expectation of active engagement with and supervision of Ph.D. students.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Philosophy or cognate field. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
