The Technical Lead for the Data Office Engineer team will be responsible for overseeing Level 1 troubleshooting tasks and serving as the escalation point to Level 2. This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our data operations ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed and escalated when necessary. This position supports the broader departmental function by ensuring data reliability and supporting seamless operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers providing technical guidance.
- Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders on data strategy and timelines.
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Implement data architecture to support warehousing analytics and reporting.
- Optimize data processes for performance and cost-effectiveness ensuring quality.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of data engineering experience with a proven track record in leadership or mentoring roles.
- Proficient in Python Java or Scala and experienced with ETL tools and data pipelines (e.g. Apache Airflow Spark). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure Google Cloud) and data warehousing (Snowflake Redshift BigQuery).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field; Masters degree is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Certified Data Fundamentals or equivalent are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A proactive and detail-oriented individual.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and open to learning new technologies.
