Job Summary and Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
Pulmonology Clinical Assistant position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as
defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health
Marian Regional Medical Center orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a
fully competent level of performance. The Clinical Assistant maintains a clean organized and safe work
environment and performs patient care services for front and back office duties. The Clinical Assistant supports
the physician/providers practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician Registered Nurse Nurse
Practitioner or Physician Assistant for thePulmonary service line.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assistant Program.
- Medical terminology class completion or equivalent experience required.
- Medical Assistant Certification and/or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Pulmonology experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Experience with Cerner and Athena IDX is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills are essential.
- Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment.
- Thorough understanding of provider schedules contracts vendors staffing and integration.
