This position will function in a fast paced medical setting specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their familiesJob Description:
- Facilitates an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office attending to needs of patients their families and medical staff
- Prepares patient for physician visit: obtains and documents appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)
- Clinical duties may include: Checks vital signs Give injections (including immunizations) Medication administration breathing treatments dressings vision/hearing testing suture removal patient education and assisting physician with procedures Distributes/educates regarding home spacers and nebulizers
- Documents records and reports necessary patient information
- Laboratory testing may include: Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture) documentation recordkeeping and reporting and telephone and walk-in triage
Other Functions:
- Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit
- Assists with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
- Checks and maintains Crash Cart chart
- Provides excellent clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record either by entry or by scanning documents
- Works closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
- Performing laboratory tests
- Maintains compliance with all company policies procedures and standards of conduct
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Job Description:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program (required)
Experience:
- Minimum of two years clinical experience (required)
- Experience in a physicians office or hospital setting
Licensure:
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
