Job Description

Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (Thalle) is currently seeking a Night Shift Surveyor. The Surveyor will report to the Project Superintendent and work closely with and support the operations team and interact with a variety of staff at all levels while remaining flexible resourceful proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Thalle established in 1947 is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough NC and a regional office in Alvarado Texas. Thalle has construction projects throughout the South East Texas and New Jersey with growth nationwide. Job Title: Construction Surveyor

Salary:Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Thalle is currently seeking an experienced Surveyor to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying. The Surveyor will be responsible for the utilization of project controls and staking using a total station GPS and computer software in project addition this position will be responsible for all aspects of project control including but not limited to field data collection topographical surveys and construction stakeout.

  • Assists with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations grade sheet computation topographical/volume analysis and project data conversion/transformation.
  • Prepare and maintain sketches maps reports and as-built surveys.
  • Calculate heights depths relative positions property lines and other characteristics of terrain.
  • Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or directing preparation of all types of survey plans.
  • Conducting plan research and review.
  • Perform fieldwork associated with land surveying.
  • Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with gravity sewer and structures.
  • Experience must show current proficiency operating a robotic tool station GPS and level.
  • AutoCAD experience not required but viewed favorably.
  • Knowledge of geological description principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws legal codes and government regulation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented organized focused self-motivated possess good work ethic and be a team player.
  • Ability to travel will be required.
  • Valid Drivers License required and candidate must pass be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards.
  • Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk listen and speak clearly on telephone.
