We are seeking Armenian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Armenian is a rare but essential language for asylum and immigration proceedings requiring interpreters with cultural fluency and strict adherence to confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Armenian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
- Interpret with accuracy neutrality and professionalism in legal and immigration contexts.
- Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards and interpreter ethics.
- Handle both scheduled requests and urgent/surge calls.
- Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Armenian and English.
- 2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal medical or government strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to stay accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
