We are seeking Bulgarian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Bulgarian is a priority Balkan language often requested for immigration asylum and refugee cases.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Bulgarian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
Interpret with accuracy neutrality and professionalism in immigration legal and administrative contexts.
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Bulgarian and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal community or government preferred).
Knowledge of interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to stay accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
