FOIA SpecialistROLEWe need an experienced Administrative Support professional to serve as a FOIA Specialist at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). USTDA helps advance overseas infrastructure projects that create opportunities for U.S. exports while supporting this role you will assist the Agencys Chief FOIA Officer and Office of General Counsel in receiving tracking and processing FOIA requests coordinating with staff to collect responsive documents and ensuring compliance with statutory and reporting requirements. You will prepare draft response letters manage document redaction and review processes and provide direct support to USTDAs quarterly and annual FOIA reporting. This is a full-time opportunity. - Track and update case information related to FOIA requests documenting actions taken and request status
- Direct FOIA requests to the appropriate offices or individuals and coordinate collection of responsive documents
- Assist agency staff in organizing and managing responsive records to meet statutory deadlines
- Communicate with FOIA requesters agency personnel and third parties as needed to ensure timely and effective processing of requests
- Process responsive documents through the FOIA system including redacting personally identifiable information and identifying documents requiring further review by the Office of General Counsel
- Draft FOIA response letters and prepare final signed correspondence to be sent to requesters with responsive documents
- Assist the agency in preparing and submitting quarterly and annual FOIA-related reports to ensure compliance with federal reporting obligations
- Perform other responsibilities and tasks related to FOIA as directed by the Chief FOIA Officer or Office of General Counsel
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE- At least 5 years of Freedom of Information Act records management experience
- Proficient in the use of a variety of IT programs databases and computerized systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to innovative and quality customer service
- Physical ability to move a large number of files and/or file boxes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to identify and resolve complex problems
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS- Business or Information Management degree Required
