MDS Manager (Permanent Role)
Location: Watertown NY 13601
Annual Salary: $85280.00 - $99840.00
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely MDS submissions in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date MDS/RUGS information for each resident.
- Educate facility staff on MDS processes and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct focused audits to verify documentation supports clinical regulatory and financial needs.
- Act as liaison between physicians residents families and payers to maximize reimbursement.
- Review resident records to identify those at higher risk for intensive or acute care.
- Ensure accurate documentation and clear communication within the medical record.
- Coordinate resident care conferences to determine appropriate care levels and services.
- Participate in regulatory surveys inspections and payer audits.
Qualifications:
Certification & Licensure:
- Current New York State RN license (Required)
- Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) certification (Recommended)
Experience:
- Previous experience in Long-Term Care (LTC)/Geriatric Care (Required)
- Experience with MDS/PPS and Medicare/Medicaid regulations
- Strong understanding of federal and state laws pertaining to long-term care
- Background in quality assurance documentation review and appeals processes
