Travel RN - Oncology Navigator (Contract Role) Location: Cambridge MA 02138
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hr Day
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Weekly Pay Rate: $2600 - $2800; (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Navigator to join our oncology care team on a 13-week contract. The Oncology Nurse Navigator plays a critical role in guiding patients through the complex cancer care system serving as a consistent point of contact for patients and their families and ensuring timely access to care and resources. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to support oncology patients with personalized care coordination advocacy and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for oncology patients families and caregivers throughout the cancer care continuum.
- Coordinate timely access to consultations diagnostic tests treatments and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care teams including physicians specialists social workers and other allied health professionals.
- Provide patient education regarding diagnosis treatment options symptom management and supportive care resources.
- Identify and address barriers to care ensuring patients receive appropriate support and resources.
- Monitor patient progress facilitate communication between care providers and support transitions across care settings.
- Promote adherence to clinical protocols and evidence-based care pathways.
- Document patient interactions and care plans accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Required Qualifications:
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) Required
- Active RN license in Massachusetts Required
- BLS certification Required
- Experience as an oncology nurse navigator or infusion nurse Required
- Two years of nursing experience in an oncology setting Preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification Preferred (or obtained within 2 years of hire)
- ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) Certification Preferred (or obtained within 2 years of hire)
