Position Summary
We are seeking an Access Control Cabling Technician to support low-voltage security installation projects in Ohio / Region. This role will focus heavily on the cabling infrastructure side of access control including pulling routing and terminating cable through conduit pathways and back to control panels. The technician may also assist with basic mounting of hardware such as readers door contacts strikes and other security devices. No programming or system configuration is required.
Key Responsibilities
Pull route and secure Cat5e/Cat6 RS-485 and power cables through conduit walls ceilings and risers.
Utilize fish tape pull rods and other tools to run cable in occupied and new-construction environments.
Terminate and label cables at panels patch panels and device locations according to drawings.
Mount and rough-in access control devices (card readers door contacts REX strikes/mag locks) as directed.
Ensure all cabling is dressed neatly secured properly and compliant with installation standards.
Assist lead technicians with panel wiring and testing.
Follow job site safety procedures and customer policies at all times.
Qualifications
1 2 years of experience in low-voltage cabling (access control CCTV fire alarm or structured cabling preferred).
Familiarity with pulling cable through conduit trays and building pathways.
Ability to use hand tools drills fish tape pull rods and ladders safely.
Basic knowledge of door hardware and access control devices a plus.
Ability to read simple floorplans riser diagrams or device layout drawings.
OSHA 10/30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass background check and comply with customer/site requirements.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs work on ladders and pull cable overhead or in tight spaces.
Work may include indoor construction sites finished office space and active facilities.
Travel to various job sites may be required (per diem/mileage as applicable).
This position is focused on the physical cabling and installation support side of access control. Programming and software configuration will be handled by others.
