You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailVista Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Part-Time Diet Officer to join our Nutrition & Food Services team. The Diet Officer ensures that patients receive meals aligned with their prescribed dietary needs medical conditions and personal preferences. This role plays a critical part in supporting patient well-being by working closely with dietitians nursing staff and food service teams.
Review patient diet orders and accurately enter information into the hospitals Diet Office Software.
Ensure daily menus reflect prescribed diet plans restrictions and allergies.
Call patients to collect meal choices and assist with menu selections when needed.
Visit patients to explain menu options gather preferences and answer food-related questions.
Collaborate with dietitians nurses and kitchen staff to ensure safe appropriate and satisfactory meals.
Monitor patient satisfaction and resolve dietary concerns in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of diet changes and meal adjustments.
Print and distribute patient menus for each meal service.
Assist with patient trayline operations.
Participate in daily staff meetings and huddles.
Step in as Supervisor when needed.
Support special projects and nutrition-related initiatives.
Adhere to all infection control safety and sanitation policies.
Activity: Frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting bending squatting climbing kneeling twisting and lifting (050 lbs).
Environment: May be exposed to infectious diseases patient care settings and irregular hours. Must be able to wear protective equipment as needed.
Sensory: Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance if required.
Bloodborne Pathogens: Daily exposure.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in food service nutrition or healthcare setting preferred.
Strong attention to detail communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
