Job Description
This position provides engineering support to the design development and testing of an automated Flight Termination System (FTS) system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earths orbit. This position supports the development and integration of FTS hardware such as computers navigation devices and Radio Frequency (RF) components. Responsibilities can include supporting component testing conducting system analyses analyzing test and vendor data verifying requirements coordinating with component vendors and the NASA customer writing reports and resolving issues. The candidate will work with other FTS engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- Minimum one year of experience with aerospace avionics
- Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with integrating a FTS into a rocket
- Knowledge of rocket launch safety requirements e.g. RCC-319 RCC-324 AFSPCMAN 91-710
- Experience with the systems engineering and integration process from requirements development through product deployment
- Active DoD secret clearance
