Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Fashion Design Intern to join our design team. This paid remote internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in contemporary fashion design from initial concept to final product. Youll support key phases of the development processworking closely with our designers on sketching moodboarding technical flats and sustainable fabric sourcing.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a team that values creativity innovation and ethical design while gaining experience with a fast-growing brand known for its premium basics and cutting-edge dye processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching seasonal trends color palettes and silhouettes aligned with the Cotton Citizen aesthetic
  • Create and present digital moodboards and concept decks for internal design discussions
  • Develop technical flats and detailed sketches using Adobe Illustrator and/or hand illustration
  • Support in preparing tech packs spec sheets and line sheets for new styles
  • Participate in the fabric and trim sourcing process with a focus on sustainable materials
  • Collaborate on wash and dye treatment concepts proposing innovative and eco-conscious finishes
  • Assist in reviewing development samples providing feedback on fit color and construction via photos videos or virtual fittings
  • Help organize and track sample revisions and communication with production teams
  • Participate in virtual team check-ins offering input and learning about cross-functional processes (design merchandising production)
  • Stay informed about sustainability best practices in fashion and contribute ideas to improve product impact

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Design Textile Design or a related field
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong sketching ability (digital or hand-drawn)
  • Passion for sustainability and ethical fashion
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting
  • A strong eye for color fabric and style especially with minimalist and streetwear influences
