Job Summary

This is a 1.0 FTE position - LTS start immediately through return of employee on leave (potentially through December 2025)

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold MA DESE license preferably in visual art and some teaching experience

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Department Chair

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Teach first through fifth grade art classes in one elementary school
Work with Fine Arts colleagues to align curriculum and lessons to established school and district objectives.
Knowledge of current Visual Arts Massachusetts Frameworks
Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
Work with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to support the needs of all students
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Effectively implement school and district initiatives.
Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers and other members of the school community.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
