What this job involves: As a Chief Engineer at JLL you will serve as a crucial on-site leader responsible for overseeing engineering teams and ensuring the efficient safe and responsible operation of all infrastructure systems and equipment supporting manufacturing processes. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strong management skills to maintain optimal facility operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Youll be at the forefront of JLLs commitment to operational excellence leading a team of skilled professionals while maintaining the highest standards of safety performance and client satisfaction that define our industry-leading approach to facility management.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Lead and manage the engineering team through hiring training coaching and personal development initiatives

Oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks for facility infrastructure and production equipment

Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and pneumatic issues in machines and equipment

Develop and implement preventive predictive and reactive maintenance procedures to optimize system performance

Manage engineering budget and actively participate in overall operating budget development process

Assist in developing and executing capital improvement plans aligned with facility objectives

Select schedule and supervise contractors while monitoring their performance and compliance standards

Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls with swift problem resolution

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years of related experience especially as a Chief Engineer Assistant Chief Engineer or similar leadership role

Proven people management experience leading technical teams

Universal CFC EPA certification

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Outlook Excel Teams)

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30 feet tall

Physical capability for frequent climbing bending kneeling lifting and driving

Strong customer service and communication skills for client-facing interactions

Preferred Qualifications:

Trade school education union training military service or college degree

Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments

Knowledge of HVAC systems plumbing electrical systems and water treatment

Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices

Project management skills and experience with technical training program development
