Job Summary:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time research faculty to work at Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado.
This position will primarily focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of Radiation Oncology including development of AI driven treatment planning outcome prediction using image processing (radiomics anatomy changes et.) large language models to aid in clinical diagnosis and treatment management and AI applications to advance clinical workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Innovative Research Develop and apply AI/ML methods (e.g. deep learning radiomics NLP) to improve radiation oncology including treatment planning image analysis outcome prediction and workflow optimization.
Publish & Disseminate Findings Produce high-quality peer-reviewed publications and present research at national/international conferences.
Secure Research Funding Write competitive grant proposals and actively seek external funding to support independent and collaborative research.
Collaborate Across Disciplines Partner with clinicians physicists scientists and industry to translate AI tools into clinical practice.
Mentor & Educate mentor students fellows residents and junior faculty in AI applications fostering the next generation of medical physicists and scientists with AI expertise.

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
PhD level degree in computer science engineering or a similar field.
1 year experience in AI research applied to medical imaging and/or radiotherapy
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years experience in in AI research applied to medical imaging and/or radiotherapy
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge
Radiation oncology workflows imaging (CT MRI PET) and treatment delivery.
Core AI/ML methods (deep learning radiomics NLP multimodal data).
Clinical data formats and regulatory/ethical standards.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$85000 to $115000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
