At JLL we are driving sustainability through everything that we do across all service lines and job positions. Specifically we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate from site selection to decommissioning.

In this role you will work directly with sustainability and facilities management teams supporting energy consumption and cost reduction initiatives. You will integrate cross-functionally to provide best-in-class advisory input to ensure all building systems including but not limited to electrical systems mechanical and ventilation systems building automation and control system among others are operating at peak performance. You will oversee the development and execution of energy reduction projects and programs in order to deliver energy savings and carbon footprint reduction. This role requires strong knowledge of building energy systems operations with a sharp focus on energy performance optimization for existing systems and retrofits.

This hybrid position requires regular on-site presence at facilities in the New York City Area.

What this job involves

  • Working cross-functionally across several teams to achieve success with energy initiatives aligned with the scope of work
  • Engaging in robust proactive communication driving innovation and integration of feedback to remove roadblocks and leverage opportunities
  • Developing implementing and driving success of a building energy optimization program in direct collaboration with the sustainability and facilities management teams
  • Engaging in strategic decision-making with key Client stakeholders including leveraging data tracking and monitoring to provide actionable recommendations
  • Leveraging client tools and applicable in-house JLL tools and processes for problem-solving and identifying and securing alternative tools as needs arise
  • Understanding the implementation of energy reduction initiatives across the life cycle of commercial real estate

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute energy management strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for energy reduction across eight sites including low-cost/no-cost and capital improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption through operational and maintenance improvements with monthly consumption review and correction if needed
  • Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly energy reports outlining progress toward objectives including estimated energy reduction and return on investment.
  • Work cross-functionally across several JLL teams including on-site personnel to achieve success with energy initiatives aligned with the scope of work
  • Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices
  • Engage with JLL facility managers to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of energy reduction.
  • Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice operational energy performance and use of utility management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes.

Requirements

  • University Degree (Science engineering math or related fields)and 5 years relevant experience
  • Technical understanding of the most common HVAC electrical mechanicalandbuilding automation systemsand their impact on sustainability goals
  • Applied experience in building energy auditing commissioning and/or retrofit or design
  • Advanced understanding ofenergy conservation measures including low-cost capital improvement andoperational and maintenance measuresand initiatives in commercial real estate
  • Strong communication and cross-collaboration skills and ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
  • Strong ability to analyze corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures
  • Passionate about working towards a sustainable future

Estimated compensation for this position:

95000..00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications location market conditions and internal considerations.
