CAD Technician

STV is seeking a CAD Technician with5 years of relevant experience for a position with our Transportation Group.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Create and update design plans: Develop detailed roadway and transportation plans using OpenRoads Open Buildings Civil 3D AutoCAD and MicroStation.

• Generate cross-sections and construction drawings ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.

• Collaborate with engineers: Work closely with civil engineers to translate design concepts into accurate CADD drawings and models.

• Ensure compliance and accuracy: Perform quality checks to ensure all designs meet state DOT and federal standards while maintaining accuracy.

• Manage project files: Organize and maintain drawings and models using ProjectWise or similar document management systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.

• 5 years of experience in drafting and designing for civil engineering projects.
• Experience with Metropolitan Transit Agency Port Authority NJ Transit and NYSDOT.

• Proficiency in:
  • OpenRoads
  • OpenBuildings
  • MicroStation
  • Civil 3D
  • AutoCAD

• Familiarity with file management and organization within ProjectWise or similar document management systems.

• Ability to interpret engineering plans specifications and design guidelines.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all deliverables.

• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers designers and project managers.
