ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!


Fairbanks International Airport is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Chief of Maintenance overseeing all infrastructure maintenance and operational planning for the airport. This is a high-impact role responsible for managing multi-disciplinary teams guiding strategic initiatives and ensuring the airports facilities and systems operate safely efficiently and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

What you will be doing:
As Chief of Maintenance you will lead and manage the overall maintenance operations at Fairbanks International Airport overseeing the strategic planning and execution of projects and initiatives across seven critical functional areas. You will ensure seamless coordination of airside and landside maintenance efforts supervise staff guide infrastructure planning and direct capital and operating budget activities to maintain a safe and operational airport. This role requires strong leadership and excellent written communication skills as you will develop and implement policies procedures and operational guidance that align with federal and state standards. Youll also collaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure infrastructure projects meet regulatory and performance standards while helping shape the long-term vision of the airports maintenance programs.

Three years of professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department and two years of supervisory and/or managerial experience which may be concurrent with the professional experience.

Special Note:
Professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department means experience in one of the professional areas that compose the divisions purpose and function to ensure the applicant has the knowledge of the work of the division to be managed.

For example in an administrative services division qualifying professional experience could be in any one of the professional areas that compose business administration; such as accounting procurement human resources and so on.

In a line division for example the Division of Mining Land & Water in the Department of Natural Resources qualifying experience could be in any one of the professional areas that provide for the use and protection of Alaskas State-owned land and water such as geology hydrology forestry natural resource management and so on.

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGE

Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.


DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOT start work in a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test. According to federal regulations all violations and refusals will be maintained with the Federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse database.
