Job Description

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Phlebotomists to support the Fresno VA Medical Centerlocated at 2615 E. Clinton Ave Fresno CA 93703. Multiple shift schedules currently available. If you accept employment with Ansible you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers. Responsibilities

  • Collect transport process and evaluate the suitability of blood urine and other body fluid specimens for testing
  • Perform routine and STAT specimen collection and testing in support of clinical chemistry histology toxicology immunology coagulation hematology urinalysis and microbiology
  • Receive deliver and store specimens for all lab sections
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care ensuring patient safety and compliance with infection control standards
  • Report patient safety incidents immediately and complete incident reporting as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all medical record and privacy regulations
  • Wear a Personal Identity Validation (PIV) card as required
  • Participate in required training and quality assurance activities
  • Work any shift as needed including covering for absences evenings weekends and holidays
  • Follow all established standards of care (VA Joint Commission AHA etc.)
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area using protective clothing as required

Qualifications

  • Current phlebotomy certification (proof required before start and at renewal)
  • Minimum 6 months of direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups urine drug screen collections paternity collections breath/saliva alcohol testing LCM/Cyber Tools TestCup pediatric blood collections and difficult draws
  • No Sponsorship available

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit stand walk lift squat bend twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
