Senior Customer Engagement Specialist

Role Overview:

As a Senior Customer Engagement Specialist you will play a pivotal role in driving customer interaction and supporting the commercial success of the Performance Products division. With approximately 60% external and 40% internal focus this position blends proactive customer engagement with cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless customer experience and effective internal execution.

You will identify and nurture new business opportunities build strong relationships with potential and existing clients and support key account activities. Internally you will act as a connector between sales marketing customer service and supply chain teamsensuring alignment and operational excellence.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by leveraging market trends trade shows digital platforms (e.g. LinkedIn webinars) and emerging tools like AI to drive growth across existing and adjacent markets.
  • Manage and qualify leads from various sources including the company website trade shows and distributor roadshows. Qualify prospects initiate contact understand customer needs and guide them through the early stages of the buying journey.
  • Engage with customers both new and existing to build strong relationships and understand their challenges and goals. Provide tailored solutions that create value for the customer and Performance Products while identifying cross-selling opportunities and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Present product offerings effectively demonstrate their value-in-use. Translate customer needs into sustainable solutions and negotiate commercial terms such as pricing payment conditions incoterms and supply commitments.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect data using the Performance Products CRM system. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) monitor pipeline progress and prepare reports to support decision-making and transparency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales colleagues customer service supply chain marketing and technical teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support Key Account Managers in daily activities with local accounts. This includes CRM updates order follow-ups handling technical and regulatory documentation (e.g. TDS SDS) and gathering competitive intelligence.

Experience and Competencies:

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Chemistry (preferred) Business Administration or Economics (Bachelor/Master/Diploma).
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in a multinational company ideally in Customer Service Inside Sales or Sales Support.
  • Industry experience in Chemicals or Petrochemicals is highly preferred.
  • Fluent in English; fluency in an additional Western European language (German French Italian Spanish) is a strong asset.
  • Strong achievement orientation and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Curious analytical and agile with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills across functions and cultures.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe
  • Self-driven with a passion for continuous learning and development.
