S&C is continuing to grow. Where do you come in We are looking for a talented Mechanical Assembler who is passionate about innovation and their field of expertise enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Shift: Afternoon (Mon - Thur 4pm - 2am)
Work Location: 90 Belfield Rd. Etobicoke M9W 1G4
As a Mechanical Assembler you will:
Assemble basic mechanical parts. Utilize hand tools and power tools to fasten screws bolts and other hardware to secure components in place ensuring proper torque and alignment.
Inspect mechanical components meticulously to identify any defects ensuring they meet strict quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of tasks performed deviations and any quality concerns.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools equipment and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.
Complete in-house training to learn how to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOLs).
Use an overhead crane ladders and other material handling equipment to move and position materials for assembly.
Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Who are we looking for Someone who has:
0-1 year of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes follow assembly instructions and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects operate tools and handle intricate equipment effectively.
Good attention to detail with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
Ability to work independently and meet the requirements of assigned materials requests.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
Ability to use hand tools power tools and measurement tools.
Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Preferred
Ability to read blueprints.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
